"You deserve a Holiday" is a favorite advertising motto for P&O Ferries. That is true is it not? After just having finished reading the book, "Eat, Pray, Love" I am a true believer that the Italians have the best answer to that question: Of course I do! But when was the last time you took a holiday? We seem to treat ourselves with lots of little meaningless things but don't give ourselves that one thing that would make the biggest difference: time off to relax and just do nothing but enjoy life.
I say this as a citizen of the United States of America, where, for some reason, we seem to have forgotten that we need time off to regroup and regenerate our bodies, minds and souls. My in-laws live in Germany, a country that practically shuts down for weeks at a time several times a year so that families can take time off together. But here, in the USA, I have met many people that do not take vacations with their spouse or their children. How can we expect families to bond if we don't even want to spend our free time together.
So here we have the encouragement to take a holiday and the P&O Ferries have something for the whole family to enjoy. You don't have to ship your kids off to camp to have fun, take them with you on your P&O Ferries mini vacation. Travel to Calais and give them a taste of France, or off to Dublin for some old-fashioned Irish beauty. Relax, unwind, play together and make some lifelong memories for you and your family. You don't have a family? That's OK. Treat yourself to some special time away and see where life takes you. Just take some time to experience something and someplace new.
P&O Ferries hit the mark on this ad, in my estimation, by pointing out that you need a holiday when life is getting you down. So props to you, P&O Ferries! I hope that this was a successful ad campaign, more than just in the profits for P&O Ferries, but also in the lives of Brits who needed to be reminded to take some time away from the pressures of life and treat yourself to a holiday, just because you've earned it. No one else is going to know when you need a break. You need to pay attention to your needs and check out what P&O Ferries has to offer you.
